Encore is the kind of five-star Fusion Rectifier user who looks like she should be causing trouble backstage, but instead she is melting enemy health bars with fiery, plush-animal chaos. She can operate as a Main DPS or a Sub DPS, and her Ultimate turns her kit into a back-and-forth between ranged and melee destruction. The real trick is that she rewards players who learn animation cancels and quick swaps, while also offering a simpler path for anyone who just wants to watch woolly missiles fly.

Strengths and Weaknesses

Rarity ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐
Element Fusion

Roles Main DPS / Sub DPS

Encore has a lot going for her. Her ceiling is high, her damage can hang with the top tiers, and she fits into multiple team archetypes. She can even be played casually, but tossing out her skill and ultimate without a plan still works because her numbers are just that solid. The downside? Some animations love to lock her in place, and greedy button presses can turn into an unplanned dirt nap.

  • ✅ High damage potential rivaling top-tier DPS

  • ✅ Flexible Main DPS and Sub DPS roles

  • ✅ Multiple playstyles from cozy to speedrunner

  • ✅ Strong synergy with quick-swap teammates

  • ❌ Animation locks can feel clunky without practice

  • ❌ Optimization requires learning cancels and rotation timing

  • ❌ Not a support, so do not ask her to heal

Tier ratings: Main DPS: S | Sub-DPS: B | Support: N/A

All that power comes with a small catch—her flashy moves sometimes finish the whole performance even after the player has mentally moved on. That is where her mastery curve lives. Choose your poison: simple and strong, or technical and terrifying.

Playstyle and Priority

Encore's damage is not just about mashing. Her Forte Circuit and Skill animations are long enough to swap away, have another character buff or deal damage, then swap back and continue the routine. This is where she stops being a regular DPS and starts acting like a tiny stage director with pyrotechnics.

For hypercarry Encore, the priority order from the reference kit is:

  1. Resonance Liberation

  2. Resonance Skill

  3. Forte Circuit

  4. Intro Skill

  5. Basic Attack

The reason is simple: her Ultimate is the main event, and everything else exists to feed it or fill time until the next fireworks show.

Rotations

Remember: enemies are not sandbags, and they will absolutely interrupt a carefully typed rotation. Parries, dodges, and knockbacks will force adjustments.

Basic Ultimate Rotation

This rotation loses one usage of Cosmos Rampage but fits in a full basic attack chain. Since Encore usually stacks Basic ATK DMG%, that is often the better deal.

  1. Resonance Liberation (Ultimate)

  2. Basic Attack 1–4

  3. Skill: Cosmos Rampage (animation cancel Basic Attack 4)

  4. Basic Attack 1–4

  5. Dash cancel Basic Attack 4

  6. Basic Attack 1–4

  7. Skill: Cosmos Rampage (animation cancel Basic Attack 4)

  8. Cosmos: Rupture (skill swap with Outro)

Opener and Follow-Up Rotation

This quick opener crams in buffs like Bell-Borne Geochelone and Rejuvenating Glow before Encore takes the spotlight.

  1. Encore Skill: Flaming Woolies, swap to Verina during the cast

  2. Verina Skill, cancel with Echo Skill

  3. Verina: Bell-Borne Geochelone, jump cancel, then mid-air attack

  4. Encore Skill: Energetic Welcome

  5. Encore: Inferno Rider, swap to Sanhua during the third hit

  6. Sanhua Skill, then Heavy, skill swap back to Encore

  7. Resonance Liberation into the Ultimate combo

For the follow-up loop:

  1. After Cosmos: Rupture, use Sanhua Resonance Liberation

  2. Sanhua Heavy, then Heavy cancel into Impermanence Heron

  3. Swap to Encore, use Flaming Woolies

  4. Swap to Verina, use Skill and cancel with Echo Skill

  5. Verina Bell-Borne Geochelone, then swap back to Encore

  6. Encore Energetic Welcome, swap to Verina

  7. Verina builds energy for Outro, then Outro to Sanhua

  8. Optional Sanhua Skill if Concerto Energy is low

  9. Sanhua Outro to Encore

  10. Encore Inferno Rider

  11. Optional Flaming Woolies if lacking Resonance Liberation energy

  12. Encore Resonance Liberation: Cosmos Rave, then perform the Cosmos Rave combo

This loop should let Encore cycle her Ultimate with roughly 10–20% Energy Regen from sub-stats. If Sanhua or Verina lack energy recharge, their ultimates may not be ready every rotation.

Weapons

Yinlin's signature weapon, Stringmaster, is still Encore's best-in-slot. It crams in a silly amount of Crit Rate, ATK%, and DMG%, and its secondary effect stays active when skill-swapping during Inferno Rider, Flaming Woolies, or Cosmos Rupture.

Cosmic Ripples is not the crown jewel it used to be, but it remains a solid backup. It offers Energy Regen and Basic ATK DMG%, which feeds Encore's main damage source. Augment is another standout because it loosens the frustrating Crit Rate/Crit DMG balance.

Echo Sets and Stats

Molten Rift is the clear winner for Main DPS Encore. It grants a hefty Fusion DMG% buff for 15 seconds after using a skill, and because Encore weaves skills into her rotations, the buff stays nice and warm.

Lingering Tunes is worth considering if the substats are better. For Sub DPS Encore, the 5-piece effect buffs Outro DMG, which can land a respectable chunk of damage on the way out.

Echo Set Best Use Notes
Molten Rift Main DPS Fusion DMG% buff after skill, easy uptime
Lingering Tunes Sub DPS or better substats Buffs Outro DMG

For the active Echo, Inferno Rider is the natural partner. It gives Fusion DMG and Basic ATK DMG, and players can swap to another character during its third hit. That animation cancel helps Encore dodge while still letting the Echo do its job.

Mech Abomination has fast animation and an ATK buff, but its damage scales with Electro DMG, so Encore cannot fully enjoy that part of the kit.

Stat priority remains the classic 1:2 ratio for Crit Rate and Crit DMG. Energy Regen should be considered if the rotation feels like it stalls before the next Ultimate.

Encore is not a character for players who want every animation to behave politely. She is for those who enjoy a little controlled chaos, a few well-timed swaps, and the satisfying moment when a flaming woolly takes the credit.
